Spirituality Days

The Byzantine Sisters have a goal of increasing knowledge and love of the Byzantine Rite in the Eastern Churches. We, for many years, have engaged speakers to present talks on spirituality days three or four times each year.
The Sisters of Queen of Heaven Monastery will hold a Sprituality Day on Saturday, December 10,2011. It will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Parish Center, 180 Belvedere Avenue N.E. in Warren, Ohio, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:45 P.M. Very Reverend Archpriest John Petro will be the presenter. His topic for the day is: "The Cave Within".

There will be time for silent reflection, questions and an opportunity to receive the Mystery (Sacrament) of Reconciliation. During the break, refreshments will be served. The afternoon will culminate with the celebration of Vespers at the Infant of Prague Manor Chapel.

Sister Ruth Platt OSBM Presents `Take Nothing for the Journey`

Recently Sister Ruth gave presentations, reflections, and held discussions with prayer at a Spirituality day for the public. She focused on the need to trust that Our Lord will provide for us. We need not fear nor worry as long as we are open to Christ's loving plan for us. Sister Ruth looked to Scripture, the words of the Fathers, Liturgy and our own spiritual experiences for inspiration and encouragement.

Sister Ruth Plante is a Sister of St. Basil the Great from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Province in Uniontown, PA. She holds degrees in Education and Eastern Christian Studies. Her ministries include working many years as teacher and principal, assisting in pastoral ministry, and serving in provincial administration as Provincial and Councilor. Sister Ruth currently is the director of the Religious Gift Shop at Mount St. Macrina and also serves as a Provincial Councilor.
